Moose on the loose!

Spent a wee packet buying some ski stuff yesterday, extra ski poles, ski bag, pole bag, new waxing clamps, new ski bindings and some kick wax, came to over Euro 600 or so. Arrgh! Money goes fast like melting snow!
Out last night skiing and came across a fellow shouting something about a moose, ah yes, a moose on the trail. Big fellows they are too. Wouldn’t want to crash into them! Lucky they had wandered off the ski track. Crashed into a fellow skier on the same stretch earlier in January and got a pair of nice blubber lips. So I can only imagine the damage a moose would do.
A fellow skier decided he’d race against me so had a grand time chasing after each other until he faded away. He probably thought I was some hard nosed Norwegian skier and would have died if he knew I was a ‘Paddy go slow’ Irish skier!
There is a fantastic downhill stretch which I get to go down on the last leg of my training. It is not lit and usually I have the headlamp on. You clock up a nice bit of speed and pray there isn’t someone in your path as you go speeding around the bends. It’s called the ‘moonshine run’ and has more to do with moon light then liquor!
Two races this weekend in Oslo. 15 km classic tomorrow and 15 km skating on Sunday in my old stamping ground, Kjelsas.

Hi Rory:
Lots of luck on your event.Time flies by so fast that one month seems like a minute, that is when there IS a month left, but now there's only a week!
My mom said that you would probably put yourself infront of the TV camera so I guess that I won't have to worry about not seeing you on TV! Well, I have to go now, again, good luck in your event and hope to see you soon.
